What's Compromise?
When it comes to gun control,
the anti-gun groups give up nothing, but expect gun owners to be "reasonable"
and give up another gun or another Constitutional Right. And what is the "greater
good" to be achieved? Is it a reduction of the crime rate, greater safety
for our homes and our families, or even the assurance that this will be the
last "reasonable measure" or "common sense" gun control
law that we will be asked to endure? The answer is "None of the above!"
To anti-gun politicians, each new gun control law puts them one step closer
to achieving their ultimate goal of disarming the American people!
When dealing with the anti-gun
coalition in our present government, gun owners should be reminded of our government's
past dealings with the American Indians. Each time the Indians "compromised"
by signing a new treaty with the United States Government, they gave up a piece
of their land for the promise that there would be no further encroachment on
their land and no further demands placed upon them. Over the course of one hundred
years, several hundred treaties were broken by the government. The Indians were
robbed of their land and their rights by the government that they trusted to
be true to its word. The Indians valued "honor," while the government
officials who signed these treaties did not even know the meaning of the word!
If the gun owners of America
do not stand up to the anti-gun coalition in our present government, we are
doomed to the same fate as the Indians, we will lose our guns and our Constitutional
rights by "compromising" with men who have no honor. Remember that
anti-gun politicians speak with a "forked tongue."
