Finances vs Constitution
U.S. Financial Disaster Violates Constitution
There is an old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
America was founded on the basis of everyman was free to pursue his financial future without interference by the Federal Government. That premise was further embedded in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
It behooves citizens to study the Constitution and the Federalist Papers to understand why the framers put such great emphasis on America being friendly to all nations but never getting involved in their political squabbles, wars and finances.
Where are we today? Congress, which has the sole power to "coin money", declare war and ensure that the constitution is followed exactly has been derelict in its duty and given the executive branch (president) and judicial (supreme court) powers that are not theirs to give away.
Why do you think congressmen/women are titled Representatives? They are the elected representatives of "We the People" and 'we the people' ARE the government.
Never before in history has the U.S. given away its sovereignty such as it has in the most recent past. It is now considered imperative that we kowtow to the United Nations, World Trade Organization, NAFTA, GAT and a host of other institutions that are decimating this great land.
America was built on proven principles that we now abandon in favor of being politically correct. The world is made up of many colors, creeds, nationalities and beliefs - you cannot appease all of them, or perhaps any of them, from the looks of conditions throughout the world today.
Just where is the justification for the American taxpayer to literally support and police the world and then be hated for it.
We have gone from a progressive nation, the richest and most innovative in the history of mankind, to the greatest debtor in history. There is a truism spoken in the financial world that when you become a debtor, you become the slave of the creditor and he becomes your enemy. As Pogo would say, "We have met our enemy and he is us."
NAFTA and its ilk is raising the standards of our trading partners and lowering our standards; it is outsourcing our jobs, technology, inventions, wealth and replacing it with a broken stock market, unemployment, two household income requirements, high divorce rates, non-supervised children, high crime rates and a host of ills.
What benefit does a poor nation, or a poor uneducated person, have to you or our nation? The charitable, alturistic benefit has some merit; however, it is far more beneficial to both the giver and the receiver if you educate the receiver rather than simply giving welfare. The axiom, "If you give a man a fish today, he will not go hungry, but if you teach him how to fish, he will not go hungry every day."
Consider this: Two highly paid, superlative athletes, Malone and Payton, chose to take a substantial pay cut (Malone from 19 down to 1 million) in order to join the Lakers basketball team for the sole purpose of having a chance of earning an NBA championship ring. Clint Eastwood, already an accomplished actor, wanted to direct and when given the chance, was told he wouldn't be paid; his reply was, "I would be glad to pay for the privilege."
This indicates an important difference in attitude and why the successful succeed and the others fail. Consorting with losers will do nothing but take you down to their level; if they knew the road to success, they would be there. Russia built the Wall to keep people in East Germany, the U.S. needs a wall to keep people out!
Under NAFTA we are giving away jobs that belong to americans. The youth can no longer get the job of lawn mowing, crop picking, tossing hamburgers, etc, etc as these jobs are rapidly going to immigrants, legal and illegal. It's even politically incorrect to call these lawbreakers 'illegal immigrants'; they must be addressed as 'undocumentated' and woe to the officer that reports them to the INS for deportation.
Corporations, in their endeavor to satisfy the stockholders and CEO's, outsource every job immaginable to China, India, Mexico, etc. Now both 'blue and white collar' jobs are becoming a thing of the past and pensions are a nostalgia for many people.
The crisis in American homes is reaching fever pitch, taxes are absolutely greater than those paid by serfs in Roman times and you will note with dismay that government bodies on a local state, county and city level are taxing the 'producative' to support the 'unproductive' to such an extent, that the 'producers' are moving in an effort to escape. Who then will be left to pay the bills?
A look at the finances of many states indicates bankruptcy a strong possibility. It used to be that the federal government would help 'bail them out'; which of course, is ridiculous - bailing someone out with their own money; where do the states think that money came from? Government does not make money, they take it from taxpayers and the Constitution expressively forbids this. Read the Constitution and see if you can find any reference to the ways the government is currently stealing your money.
Now for the shock of your life, see how much the pols are going to spend on rebuilding Iraq; estimates top $600 billion and that doesn't count the many, read that 'most', countries throughout this planet that our government believes is so necessary to support.
If this was the way America was built, we would have been no better off than where we left. This is why our forefathers demanded that America be a republic and not a democracy. History reports that democracies have always failed because as soon as the majority finds it can grant itself benefits that others must pay for, the end is near. And now we are embarking on a future for present day americans that may not be much better as regards basic human needs and wants and the ability to keep one's money that was earned.
