ULTIMATE CLASSIFIED
ULTIMATE CLASSIFIED - FOR SALE/WANTED
Wealth and leisure have proved to be a profitable and compelling pastime for both collectors and those who had the foresight and eye to locate the most desired collectibles, antiques and rarities.
Once an avid collector is "bitten", it becomes an obsession to complete the collection and the next step is to upgrade all the specimens to as near perfect as is possible.
It seems that no matter how diligent one is in locating all of the series or models of a particular field of collectibles, there is always a better specific one in some other collection and that becomes a quest to trade upward or bid outrageously in order to complete one's collection so that it is unmatched.
Because this field is so broad and has even created niche, nostalgic and modern collectibles, it has now become fashionable and profitable to collect what yesterday would appear to be absurd.
Pity the children because some of their toys; eg, Barbies, Beanie Babies, Teddy Bears and the list goes on and on, are entering the collectible market and hence the parents buy the items but won't let the children play with them.
A wise man once said, "You never really own the collectible, the antique, the rarity; you are simply the caretaker and must guard it, maintain it, insure it and never even enjoy it. Your satisfaction is limited to knowing it's in your possession and can be bequeathed."
Whether anyone can agree on the subject of collecting, its merits or its drawbacks is irrelevant. It exists, it gives pleasure, it gives a person's life a direction and for some, it is primarily a profitable endeavor.
Pity the poor artists of ages ago who suffered through financial straits and the irony that some of their paintings now sell for millions of dollars.
Whoever said the world is a fair place?
The United States Times Weekly has explored this "other world" and realized that each segment seems to have its own directory or publication. That complicates the life of those who might be interested in more than one facet so the "Ultimate Classified" was created as a 'one -stop source'.
The perfect opportunity to advertise worldwide and reach hundreds of millions of people interested in Collectibles, Antiques, Rarities and Hard-To-Find items is the goal of this
classified section.
